Will I be able to use my iphone 4 in Qatar using a local network SIM card?

My husband and I are moving to Qatar next month. We both have iphone 4's still under Orange contracts. We will pay our way out of our contracts with Orange and then get our phones unlocked.
Will we be able to use a local SIM card with these phones?

Yes, as long you unlock them first for open sim usage.Other option is to return back the iphones to orange, buy new ones here in Qatar, they are cheaper here with lines and they are open also, so you can use it with any other provider once your out on vacation.
