Hello I have pathfinder 07 model, all of a sudden the gear is just lose and moving freely and car is only refing when i press the accelarator. what you guys think it might be and where can i take it to fix it any particular garage especialise in transmission ?
Another thing, if this Ajeya guy tells you there's some other problem too which you can and should fix along with the transmission repair, do not think he is trying to make more money from an unnecessary repair and if you can afford it, do it. He only tries to combine other future maintenance/repair items into one holistic job and its up to you whether you want to take his advice or not. It might save you a huge labour bill in future. For example, my car needed an oil seal. Cost of the seal? 35 rials...labour cost to drop the engine and transmission to change the seal? 1800 rials...he suggested I change not just that one seal but every other seal even if not leaking at the moment, to be safe. It cost me only an additional 500 for parts but now I have the peace of mind that my car will not leak a single drop of oil for a few years to come. Also, use original parts. And remember, be nice and loving to people and they will be nice and loving to you in return.
when you ask for assistance, give as many details as possible....telling us if its an automatic or manual would be a good start...if its automatic, it could be something very simple like a broken shift linkage or shifter cable...if its manual, no problem is big enough to bankrupt you or be a huge headache otherwise...i do all major work on my car at Plus Car garage, St. 19, Gate 25 Industrial Area. Call Ajeya at 55395466. He is a busy but helpful guy and is thorough with his work. Another tip is to always be friendly with any person you allow to work on your car and treat him as a friend and not some thief who is out to rip you off; another tip, I do not hate Arabs and in fact love most of them; but what I've learned is that when it comes to working on your car, you're GENERALLY best off avoiding them; they mean well but GENERALLY, simply do not have the natural aptitude for a thorough and informed job..best of luck...
