Help appreciated from computer specialists

Dear all, just wondered if anyone knows how to fix an XP laptop. Tried to download a tv programme and i have lost all (except 2) desktop items. I think its to do with EXE and LNK files but not sure how to progress. Your help would be apprecaited. Think it may be a virus

If its a virus its not easy to restore unless you have a good anti virus...

Try going to Programs, Accessories, tools, "restore" and restore it to a earlier date

I dont understand exactly ur prob! but try to do it.

right click on the taskbar,

select property

select the tab start menu

select the classic start menu (if you need more items on desktop click on customize).

i think it will help u, if it was ur prob.
