Revealing the Four Elements

Located in the Four Seasons Doha in West Bay, Elements is a striking contemporary open space with eclectic finishes and dramatic colors. This restaurant is a true testament that simplicity with a quirky twist wins over extreme luxury.
We arrive at this lovely restaurant on a Wednesday night to try out some of its signature dishes and check out the place.
Upon entering we are taken by how nice the interior of the place is. We are told that the décor it’s inspired by four classic elements; earth, air, fire, and water. The concept is to play homage to its namesake revealing four elements, bringing together four distinct focal points.
“The lounge feature a wall backdrop that is inspired by the water element and reflections, using mirrored and metallic tile finishes; the main dining area is enriched with live-edged wood, and iridescent sheer and glowing acrylic creating a warm ambience inspired by the earth; the show kitchen offers a vibrant view of the culinary action, where fire creates the cuisine; the outdoor area is newly developed as one-part lounge and one-part dining area, and the space is both open and inviting. A large iconic cloud sculpture inspired by the air hangs overhead”, says Endamia Decour, Director of Public Relations and Communications.
Now that we understand the concept of Elements it is time to test the food. The food is focused on a lavish mix of Arabic, Asian, Indian and Seafood flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For starters, we are served the Elements’ Salad, a crispy soft shell crab, with mizuna leaves, and sesame dressing. We continue our dinner with a half Perking Duck accompanied by a traditional pancake, spring onion, and cucumber all to be dipped in a succulent hoisin sauce. This dish is very tasty and light on the stomach.
The waiter then brings us one of the star dishes of the night, the Chef's Dim Sum Platter. This platter brings together different Dim Sums including, vegetable, lobster, scallop and sea cucumber, squid ink Har Kao, black truffle Siew Mai, and lamb bun. Even though they are small, they are full of flavors and melt in your mouth.
No matter what your preference is when it comes to Dim Sums here you will find at least two that would please your senses.
The perfectly grilled Ayam Bakkar (shown in featured image) follows up, and it’s another stand-out dish. This fantastic Indonesian chicken accompanied by white rice is mouth-watering.
Our last main course is the famous Elements Mixed Grill. Here meat lovers can rejoice as it features an amazing selection of Lamb kebab, shish tawouk, kofta, and lamb chop. It looks pretty and enticing and it taste even better than it looks. Each meat cut its cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the mix grilled.
Even though all the dishes are rich in flavors, they are not over barren. I can tell the chef pays as much attention to the meal as to the presentation of each dish. I just love the level of sophistication of each one.
In terms of the ambiance, the music at Elements blends modern lounge tunes with a great mix of upbeat music performed by their in-house DJ and the service is top-notch.
Elements is the perfect place to enjoy a fantastic meal in a chill yet sophisticated atmosphere.
