Back again with a slew of exciting activities for one and all to enjoy, the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) has begun its 10th edition at Qatar Foundation’s Oxygen Park.

The 11-day festival, which opened yesterday and runs until March 30, offers food enthusiasts in Qatar a chance to treat their taste buds to new and exotic flavors from around the globe.

In addition to popular local eateries, the festival convenes start-ups and new outlets from across Doha, bringing some healthy options and fresh organic produce as well as innovative food combinations to delight the festivalgoers.

With more than 150 food and beverage stalls visitors of all ages are in for an unforgettable gastronomic experience that is enhanced by a series of cultural shows and other entertainment and learning opportunities.

The festival comprises three dedicated areas with area 01 offering main course specialties, 02 focusing on kid-friendly foods and activities and 03 designated for cafes and light food coupled with private seating areas where pre-set menus are served.

Among the 10 reasons you need to visit QIFF 2019, is the fact that this year’s version is complemented by the gorgeous weather in Doha currently, which makes the line-up of activities at the festival even more attractive and memorable.

The opening ceremony of the festival was held yesterday. Vice-Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, and Secretary-General of Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and GCEO of Qatar Airways, Akbar al Baker, graced the occasion.

“QIFF is a celebration of our country’s cultural diversity and has played a key role in enriching our calendar of curated events, giving more reasons for tourists to visit and revisit Qatar,” Al Baker said, welcoming dignitaries, festival partners and other members of QNTC, according to Gulf Times.

The ceremony saw a number of vibrant cultural performances. Celebrity Chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Dominique Ansel, and Noora Al Kuwari demonstrated their extraordinary culinary skills at the event. A number of other world-renowned celebrity chefs will take part in the festival offering food lovers in Doha a unique chance to learn from the culinary geniuses at QIFF 2019’s masterclasses.

“QIFF has also elevated our food and beverage (F&B) industry by introducing us to flavours and culinary artists from all around the world as well as supporting local entrepreneurs and upcoming businesses,” Al Baker noted, adding that as this is the Qatar-India Year of Culture, there will be a special emphasis on the foods and cultural elements of both countries at the festival.

“For those visiting the festival, Education City may be a new experience, or a familiar one. But what all of them will find is an open, diverse, inclusive, and vibrant environment that we hope will bring a new, exciting dimension to their enjoyment of this event,” Machaille Al Naimi, President of QF’s Community Development, said, according to Qatar Tribune

They say, TASTE is in the TONGUE; The STALLS should offer some TESTERS to the PUBLIC. That's how it will encourage people to try-out different cuisine especially for those who are pocket conscious. When people get to TASTE the food it may encourage them to BUY depending on the TASTE and their liking.
