Doha’s Best Cheesecake Competition Winner is…

Cheesecake enthusiasts rejoice – the ultimate question has been answered: what is the best cheesecake in Doha?

UrbanPoint hosted the yummiest event on Friday August 28 at The Fogue Cafe, the first ever cheesecake competition in Qatar, with the goal of finding out what everyone wants to know: who makes the most delectable cheesecake in Doha?

The competition involved some of Doha’s best cheesecake bakers presenting their signature cakes and competing with each other in a cake-off.

A variety of popular cafes and bakeries participated including Sugar and Spice, Bread and Bagel, Opera, , Eli France and Fogue Café.

The event brought together food bloggers, social media influencers, and cake enthusiasts to devour, judge, and celebrate the best cheesecakes that Doha has to offer.

Judges and guests were offered color coded cheesecakes to ensure confidentiality, and were asked to record their ratings on scorecards. The cheesecakes were rated for their taste (50%), creativity (30%) and presentation (20%).

A total of 6 judges, chosen amongst the community leaders and influencers of Doha, were invited to the event, including the CEO of the Youth Company and QatarLiving.com, Where2eatqatar Instagrammer, Head Pastry Chef of Aspire Hospitality, Marketing Manager of Intercontinental Doha, and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.

Along with the audience, they had the tough job of deciding which cheesecakes would make it to the top 3. The weight of the voting was split between the audience (40%) and judges (60%).

After some fierce evaluations, the judges tallied the scorecards and named Opera Bakeries’ Cheesecake the 3rd place winner, and Bread & Bagel’s cheesecake the runner up.

The title of the Best Cheesecake in Doha was given to … (drum roll) … Fogue Café for their delectable pistachio cake!!
