The Burger Hunt is on!
Anyone will tell you that a good burger is easy to find, but a great burger…well, that requires a bit more hunting.
Thankfully, The Westin Doha has brought the Burger Hunt to us.
We sent our best carnivores to try the big three offerings from the hotel’s restaurant, Hunter’s Room & Grill.
The Tex-Mex
First up, was the Tex-Mex. The white meat of the group features a crispy chicken breast stacked with avocado, tomato salsa, jalapenos and a cheese sauce.
This was easily my favorite of the bunch, as the combination of spicy and creamy perfectly complimented the juicy chicken breast.
The Arabesque
Next up was a taste inspired right here in the Middle East. Using familiar Arabic flavors, The Arabesque serves up a spiced lamb patty sandwiched between two freshly baked flat breads. The burger is topped off with grilled halloumi cheese and tahini sauce. If you prefer your burger experience a bit more experimental, then the Arabesque is for you. If you’re more of a burger traditionalist, it’s best to go for either of the other two options.
The Huntsman
Finally, it was time to test out the crown jewel of the Burger Hunt. The Huntsman is the restaurants’ signature burger and delivers a meaty payoff for the senses. With a mix of inspirations, including a touch of home from the chef’s South African roots, the Huntsman is a double Australian Angus beef patty marinated in barbeque sauce, toppy with crispy bacon strips (or in this case, South African Biltong), battered onions rings, wild rocket and a sharp cheddar cheese topping. Be warned, this burger is a monster!
Each burger is filling and most importantly tasty! Of course, a burger is not a burger unless it is accompanied by fries, and Hunter’s offers a choice of three delicious side items – House Fries, Sweet Potato Fries or Seasoned Potato Wedges
The Burger Hunt can be a messy experience, but that’s where the fun in hunting burgers comes in. Don’t expect to use a knife and fork for this dining experience, just dive in and enjoy!
