Is Qtel blocking non-qtel modem routers?
A few days ago, my modem router (Netgear DG834GT) suddenly stopped being able to receive internet service. After calling Qtel, they send a technician over and they basically forced me to buy a piss-poor router with a ton of markup.
Right now I'm "cruising" at 0.5 megabits per second, whereas I used to be around 4 megabits per second or so on my old router.
I have a couple of hunches as to how they are blocking my modem router, one of them being that they either block all modem routers without the correct MAC address, OR, they are blocking modem routers on a per-router basis, meaning they've recorded my individual MAC address.
That, or they somehow aren't even using MAC addresses to block my modem router off at all.
How would I go about bypassing this really dumb thing they're doing?
i don't think they have blocked , becuse i have link sys and i use same username and password . but if you ask some posrts ,they blocked in Qtel modem by default....like video port or port forwarding...
