ADSL spliters don't work with Q-Tel modems ...

Expanders, does not expand air, does it? So you should have a wireless router and then you can expand the signal.

So the solution is to replace Q-Tel router with any other ADSL wireless router.

I think I saw an ADSL filter or ADSL splitter at E-Max in City Center at the telephone accessories section. What you need to look for is a small box with line input and two outputs i.e. ADSL/Modem and phone.

p/s - I have the same setup as suggested but I used a splitter that I got when I was living in the Hague

ADSL filters are used to split or rather separate your phone signal and computer internet signal. In which you can still use your phone while browsing the web. Check your ADSL filter, there should be 2 jacks of which one for your telephone and one for your computer.

You can add an ADSL filter in your room as long as the phoneline is the same with the one on your living room. to check phone line, just transfer your phone from the living room to your room and using your celphone dial up your land phone, and if rings...your good to go.attach an ADSL filter to the phone jack and happy surfing the web.

I think there is only two solutions ( I am not expert )

1. either go for wireless

2. or go for wire ... ( with cable )

haha
