
Qatar Charity attains recognition from the Somali Prime Minister for initiatives in Somalia

The Somali Prime Minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble, praised the Qatari support for his country, applauding Qatar Charity for implementing the qualitative developmental projects in the country.
This came during the inauguration of a multi-service center and a charity bakery by Qatar Charity in Baidoa in the southwestern Bay region of Somalia.
The center is the first of its kind in the region, which provides various educational, social, and developmental services to the people. The project, valued at more than 1.4 million, is expected to benefit the people of Baidoa.
The charity bakery aims to lessen the suffering of the drought-hit people by providing free bread daily to 2000 families. The building, equipping, and one-year operating cost of the project is estimated at more than 1.6 million Qatari riyals.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, the president of the South West regional state of Somalia Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, and the Qatari Ambassador to Somalia HE Ambassador Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, in addition to many federal and state government officials, local dignitaries, and a team from Qatar Charity’s Somalia office.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Somali Prime Minister said "I am delighted to inaugurate this service project, which covers several important domains such as health, culture, education, water, and extending assistance to those in need, especially orphans.”
“I have witnessed many projects implemented by Qatar Charity in the country,” added the Prime Minister, thanking Qatar Charity for extending the continued support to the Somali people, and the government and people of Qatar for always standing with the people in Somalia.
The Qatari ambassador to Somalia HE Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, said, "The State of Qatar always seeks to help the Somali brothers through sustainable projects, as these projects provide job opportunities for the unemployed to ensure stability and rebuild various institutions so that Somalia can enjoy security, stability, and prosperity."
"Qatar Charity is a strategic partner of Somalia in all service and development areas,” said the Minister of Higher Education Abdullah Abu Bakr at the opening ceremony, thanking Qatar Charity and the government and people of Qatar.
The president of the South West regional state of Somalia Mr. Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed said, "This service project is a qualitative leap for the population of the region and was desperately needed by them.” He also added that his administration would facilitate all means for benefactors to carry out the qualitative projects in the state.
Addressing the ceremony, Director of Qatar Charity's Somalia office, "We are happy with the opening of this project, which was one day a distant dream, but thanks to the benefactors in Qatar, it has turned into a tangible reality."
He pointed out that the collective efforts of the Somali government and state officials led by President Abdulaziz Hassan contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
Qatar Charity has implemented many developmental projects in Somalia, as the number of multi-service centers in the last two years has become 9.
