Ethiopian Community School's opening ceremony witnesses the participation of Qatar Charity

Under the patronage of Qatar’s Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi, the Ethiopian Community International School inauguration ceremony saw the participation of Qatar Charity in Doha.
The Ethiopian ambassador to Qatar Samia Zekaria, Director of African Affairs department HE Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Hamdan AlDosari, and CEO of Qatar Charity Mr. Youssef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari were also present during the event.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by many state officials, representatives of civil society organizations and the private sector, and the members of the Ethiopian community residing in Doha.
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the school, the Ethiopian ambassador praised the humanitarian efforts and aid provided by Qatar Charity for the needy and afflicted worldwide, noting its great achievements in the field of humanitarian and relief work.
"Qatar Charity delivered assistance to the Ethiopian community residing in Qatar, especially it has provided food aid to the community during the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to extending a helping hand to the vulnerable in our country,” said the ambassador, indicating a good relationship between the community and Qatar Charity.
The ambassador added that Qatar Charity has provided financial support to contribute to the operation of the school, aiming to build an educated and conscious generation, noting that the school is looking forward to continuing cooperation with Qatar Charity and others to achieve its educational goals. The school is very important, as more than 20,000 Ethiopian citizens live in the State of Qatar.
Qatar Charity, as an international humanitarian and developmental organization, pays close attention to education by building facilities, schools, and training centers, and sponsoring students and teachers.
Qatar Charity, in cooperation and partnership with various governmental and non-governmental bodies, contributed to the opening of the ‘First Ihsan School’ for non-Arabic speaking children, and the ‘Second Ihsan School’ for Arab children, who have been deprived of education for various reasons.
Qatar Charity, as part of its humanitarian and social services offered in Qatar, is keen to reach various communities residing in the country, in cooperation with their embassies. It has distributed food parcels to the Ethiopian community to ease the suffering of families affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
