Aster Medical Centre and Droobi to jointly offer digital health programs aimed at individuals with chronic diseases
Aster Medical Center and Droobi had announced their partnership to offer digital health programs for people living with type 2 diabetes or at risk for chronic conditions across Qatar.
With this collaborative partnership, Aster Medical Centre will incorporate Droobi's digital therapeutic solutions into its comprehensive care management programs. Aster Medical Centre will offer Droobi's platform as a stand-alone product along with its diabetes care kit and will be distributed in all of Aster’s pharmacies.
Data collected by the Qatar Biobank and Qatar Diabetes prevention program pointed out that over 70 percent of Qatari nationals are either overweight or obese, with 17 to 20 percent of adults suffering from diabetes, chronic diseases, and other health issues.
Droobi’s programs are specially designed to empower people to achieve their health goals through sustainable lifestyle change. Aster Medical Centre will support Droobi through their branches at C Ring Road and Al Rayyan initially to share the activity with their patients and the general public.
People diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, pre-diabetes, or metabolic syndrome, will be guided through a tailored experience that includes a consultation and walkthrough of Droobi’s online program. Patients will be able to track progress and receive proactive, individualized interventions from their assigned certified diabetes educators through Droobi’s app.
The program also includes interactive educational lessons and an action plan tailored to an individual’s specific conditions, to help the user build long-term healthy habits to achieve their goals. Specialist doctors of Aster Medical Centre will be the partner for such activities.
