I don’t know about you, but reading “first,” “museum,” “Arab world,” and “media” in the same sentence has me intrigued, and it doesn’t end there. Now, let me tell you more about it, and prepare yourself to be blown-away.
Open to the public, this interactive museum will engage audiences through its state-of-the-art design and structure. Its 360° exhibition will provide visitors with an immersive experience, challenging them to explore art through a new medium. Cool, right?
Its digital technology and captivating design will allow a two-way communication, making the visit more enriching and thought-provoking. A combination of digital content as well as other physical media and content will create a varied range of experiences for the audience.
The Media Majlis will host two exhibitions per year, focusing on the Arab world and exploring its major themes and stories. These exhibitions will also be complemented by other various programs, workshops, screenings, including opportunities to learn from experts in the fields in question. Panel discussions will be held to facilitate the exchange between the audience and the artists.
Not only will this university museum be available for the public, but it will also be used as an educational and research platform by both NU-Q students and faculty. Students will be able to connect the content of their classes with the one of the exhibitions, elevating their learning and understanding of the matter in question.
The opening exhibition, Arab Identity, images in film, will address the theme of identity and the affiliations that come with it, focusing on Arab identities. The exhibition will feature films from the 1880s that explore this theme, taking the discussion a step further.
So, keep your eyes open and your social media updated, this museum is going to be revoluntionary.
