Hai, as you are new and looking for an accomodation to stay, u may need to carry minimum atleast half month rent as your advance to the House owner and convince him to pay the rent by the end of the month after your salary is received. For that alteast you need minimum 1000 QR as Mr.Goodlittleboy suggested.

Apart from that for your daily food requirement, you may need minimum 50 QR per day stay (with minimum menu). You decide how many days u need to stay here before your receive your salary and accordingly plan the amount required.

Then going to your office, if transport is arranged by your company, then no need amount for that. If not arranged and you need your own transport to go to your office, then plan minimum 30 qr per day for to and fro,

Hope these information may help you to decide how much amount you may require when u get into Qatar.

To my knowledge, Qatar does not allow the transfer of money from outside for individuals either through banks or money exchange companies. You can check this out through banks in your country or through any Western Union office in your country. You can bring in some cash when you are coming into the country.

As for how much cash you need to carry, it's not easy to answer. My own guess would be QR 1000.

You can PM me for further guidance on this matter.
