Would someone please put me out of my misery?

Last week I had my second interview here in London and it lasted 4 hours. (Sorry I should`ve mentioned that my interview was with the managing director of one of the biggest commercial establishment in Doha Qatar)…I was led to believe that they are very interested to get me on board and offer me a position. I was given a cell phone number to keep in touch via what`s app, a skype ID and email addresses, now it has been over a week and no sign of an offer or a response to my emails or even an acknowledgement of some sort.

The biggest dilemma is, my current employment here in London is subject to contract renewal by the end of September if I sign it then I`ll have to stick with it for another 12 months and if I don`t, I`ll lose few gratuities such as the company car, London Weighting and so on….

How long (approximately) does it take between the last interview to the formal job offer in Qatar?

How common is it for the employment process to be at such slow pace?

Is there anything I can do to hurry them up?

I`ll appreciate any comments/suggestions and ideas from your experiences.

If you are the type of person who likes things to move quickly, then Qatar is not the place for you. They might get back to you, they might not. They might give you a call in six months' time, but don't hold out any hope. Sorry about being a Negative Nelly, but that is the reality.

Sign up your renewal. 6-12 months are the minimum time requirement in the big houses at Qatar. Till you get your visa and tkt.

Yes, follow Equin0x's advise, share the company's address or name oe any contact tel # so that we can check and give you help ful feed back then you can decide whether it is worth waiting or not. At this stage we cannot hastily decide about reputation of any company. It is time for many to avail 10-15 days Hajj holidays here & that could also be the reason.B patience every thing will b fine. Rely on QL guys.

1. Please mention your nature of job? because that might allow other potential companies in Qatar to come in picture.

2. The best option is to fly from London to Doha, reach to their office and have first hand feed back. In case of failure, you would have the chance to speak with a few other similar companies in Doha, who are always on the look out for potential professionals.

3. If the name of company is known, then it is possible for us to give the alternative contact numbers of their HR and boss offices.

In Qatar, don't wait for offers. It hurts the pride as well. Job offers should be first come first served. If the company is too slow in making a decision then it's too bad for them. Just stick to your job if the company doesn't contact you before your next contract signing.

if the company is really interested in you - you'll have the offer right then and there... the hardest part is waiting for nothing... the mere fact that they are not answering your email - is a clear indication.
