Volkswagen Tiguan v/s Toyota Prado
By CountingStars •
I am considering these two cars and VW dealers on Salwa Rd have a competitive deal in which they are offering a guaranteed buy back after 2 years, which would see me lose only 25k QAR. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with guaranteed buy back deals with VW and if there is anything I should watch out for?
Secondly, how does the Tiguan compare to the Prado, as that is another option I am looking at. Two year old used prado can be picked up around 125k, which isn't too bad.
Thirdly, the golden question - are VW's actually safer than Toyota's or is this just a myth?
VW is no doubt a great car manufacturer.
The Land Cruiser is good for annoying residents of the Pearl at the weekend!
Even Nasser Al Attiyah used a VW Tuareg when he won the rally Paris - Dakar in 2011. The only Japanese car participating and winning was Mitsubishi Pajero. Maybe it's a better choice than the Land Cruiser..
Stars, Nobody can beat P R A D O ........ even in the 20 years to come ............. May be you love VB / Germany .......... but when it comes to like a car go for Toyota models Land Cruiser or Prado then Camry and Corolla are the STARS you can COUNT .......... Take a lift for three days with a LC / Prado owner then go for a test drive ............ your view on VB / Prado will change for ever .
In general Toyota owners do less mistakes on the road while driving .......... there is really something it ............. !!! ......... But still you are taking a risk if you will go for a VB ........ because when it's plant is affected ... parts supply will be under pressure .......... and rules in Euro / US are un-necessarily stringent ......... tomorrow if somebody is ill or born without a perfect body they may throw her / him into the sea ............... !
@Molten Metal - I have been following the news about VW. The emissions scandal was related to the diesel engines and effects Europe mainy. In Qatar everyone drivestates monster motors with 4 litre v6 engines so I don't think there's much of an argument about emissions! I still believe VW are a great German brand. The quality of their build is very high and I am looking for a safe car. I hear some Japanese cars don't have strong body's. Thoughts?
My dear, With such a news flow about VB .......... how on the earth you are still discussing it to buy .......... !
VW starts with Tuareg and a V8 engine. The rest is rubbish!
For goodness sake. Tiguan is comparable to the RAV4, not the Prado
