Unhappy tenant

i have been researching ways to convey my message to people and expats living here in doha that coming from the dubai we had same if not high, expectations from the people of doha.
Been in the country from past 2 years i have come across various people, and one thing i found in them that was vey common was THAT THEY ARE NOT POLITE.
Yesterday i came across the most rude conversation i had with my compound company manager, who from the beginning of the conversation till the end refused to understand my side of the story and spoke to me in very sarcastic and impolite manner with me being muslim lady.
At the end, i had to keep the phone without being apologized to and with a very sad heart, that how can people be so rude to their own customers, I am paying for where i live and i have right to complain, but instead i am being taught the rules to live this country despite of paying heavy rents and zero level maintenance.
There is so much more to write and so much more to say, but who will listen and understand and take an action is a question.

Thank you everyone for your support, but it was a british lady and an indian man who spoke harshly. And i don't expect all countries to be the same but yes i do expect courtesy and respect everywhere I go.

Why do people come to Qatar and compare to other countries, every country has pros and cons, not all countries are the same, accept it for what it is and if it becomes so unbearable, you have the CHOICE to leave and live in a country that meets your expectations.

...for it to sink in and makes you wonder if money makes people a bit rude or arrogant. You found one who was rude. But,IMHO,not all Qataris are rude.

My deep sympathy for you. You will have your day and your way soon.Chill out,my friend.

Signs of Qayamat?

You mean the barefooted bedouins competing in the erection of lofty buildings sign of the last hour that Prophet Mohammed prophesied more than 1400 years ago?

Welcome to Qatar !

This is a place where you tend to see the starting signs of Qayamat. It is only because the locals dont care who comes here to make their country. If they would have done, the situation would have been different. When I first came here in 2003 Doha was a very nice place. But the start of 2005 showed its colours of money as imaan. Here the only good thing you will find is Daawa that could be done where as it is not found in other GCC or muslim countries. If you are interested find peace and friends in some womens wings (where you can learn more on islam) like Mariam centre, Fanar, etc.

here even a nepali guy working as waiter (in al halool cafe) behave like he is the owner of the cafe.. he acts and speak like a goon..

here there is no such thing we called customer servcice if you want to get respect then change your look to european or arabs.. or when its on phone call tell them your Qatari orr european.. they will automatically respect you..

May be some ladies of his own family at home were giving him tough time recently so he just took revenge from any other lady who just happened to talk to / meet him.

Because there are no jobs there :O(

Fazal: Sorry to hear of your predicament. I have met rude people , and also some very nice ones. Although I agree that customer service is a misunderstood issue here. Cheer up, it could be worse..

I was born in dubai and i can proudly say that i never came across any company and its employees who spoke impolitely to its customers.

We were never treated based on our nationalities and the companies always welcomed suggestions and complaints.
