The airline's flight manifest will include your name and passport details. No matter if you are in transit to Doha via Dubai - if this info is flagged by authorities in Dubai - you're in trouble.

Hi

I am planning to move to qatar with below problems in UAE

1. I was jailed due to a cheque case which I already cleared with bank and released case from court.

2. Currently having bank loan and card what would be the risk moving to qatar. Will qatar give me visa? A firm already provided me a visit visa to visit qatar for interview.

I am sorry, this is not the exact thing you are talking about, but is similar, can someone guide me please?. I just was pushed to resigned,so I'll have to leave the country and I owe money to the bank, and I really don't have the amount to pay them, and the company doesn't give the NOC letter, so, Can I go to jail or what's gonna happen if I don't pay, Can the company just force me to leave or actually can I leave?

In 2008 I was badly stuck in a cheating case. One of my clients gave stolen cheques to me in billing. i was un-aware of. He flee away from dubai and I was caught by police after few days and remained confined for a week. I was release for settlement but the party, being too strong, forced me to pay from my own pocket. How could I? Meanwhile, I escaped from dubai leaving my passport at Police station.

Sine 2010, my visa got expired. Now the question is can I move to qatar? Do uae and qatar have a kind of treaty for such cases?

Hi anyone can help me with my problem , same as the above issue.

I have a bank default in UAE and been away there for 1year n 5months and unpaid. So i am planning to go to Qatar and look for a job and find a better way of living and slowly pay up my debts in UAE.

How risky is to enter Qatar? Is Doha Airport immigration aware of the bank defaults of anyone, just in case?

Please give me advise as i am planning to fly there asap. I am just worried with this issue..

Thanks

...it is true that a bank can blocked a person to re-enter GCC if they have an unpaid credit card from any GCC's. His office mate was not able to get a visa because he is blocked by the bank he owed...Maybe its a case to case basis?

@ garyvill-->> did you coordinate with the bank before applying for a visa? When you were still in India did you received a demand letter from the collection agency?

How did this collecting agent from India manages to call here in Doha? Did you gave your whereabouts to them that you are here already in Doha?

2 years ago I left Dubai due to the economy crisis. but left behind a couple of unpaid credit card dues. Now I'm here in Qatar trying to start all over again & make a leaving. Just last week a collection agency (Bilkish) from India called me & demanding to pay a large amount of money & threatened me that if I do not settle the amount for 3 days period they will report me to the bank (Dubai), so the bank can file a case against me.

My question is, can they arrest me here in Qatar, even the case was filed in Dubai, UAE?

the dept collecting agency in UAE will send an email with full of treats and unprofessional warnings to the person who left behind his debts. they claim he will be blocked in all international airports in the world if they file a case against him. it is totally absurd. there is no such situation anywhere in the world except in the case of extradition treaties between countries.

there are significant concerns about trials in absentia and extradition procedures following trials in absentia. in the absence of such procedures, the person could not be extradited to UAE from anywhere in the world.

Actually my friend has the same problem regarding credit card from uae, he is at Africa already but afraid because one of the law firm in our country has forwarded an email to him telling that he has a bouncing cheque since he did not pay for almost 6 months and the government of UAE already filed a case against him and they said that if he cannot settled it immediately they will pursue this case and have a the tie up with our country and he cannot travel abroad anywhere and he will be put in jail or if he has a property in our country it will be automatically forfeited and be canceled. What will happen on this kind of issue? Is this really true or they just want to pressure my friend? Please give advice.

No problem at all. He can get the job visa here in Qatar. If his intenstions r right then no probz he can settle while doing job here in Qatar. The government rules r not soo harsh for anyone, at the end bank needs the money so either way he has to clear it and at the same time got to inform the bank branch UAE if available here in Qatar for further correspondence!!!

I have an office mate who went for a month vacation. He got loan and credit cards from a bank. However, he never returned after a month. After the lapse of 4 months, this officemate of mine came back to Qatar to work again in our office. Maybe he was not that lucky enough to find a job in some other countries that is why he decided to come back. The company I am in is considerable and humane to accept again these kind of employees who have went for vacation and never return and then after months of being away decides again to come back.Having 4 months away from Qatar with no payments made on his loan and credit cards and with his working visa cancelled already by our company as deemed terminated, the bank could have been relentlessly in seek for the payment of the debts that he owed. I was thinking he could have been blocked already by the bank and his name was forwarded to the airport for immediate arrest as soon as he comes back to Doha (with no assurance of coming back). Luckily, such scenario did not happen. He was able to come back to our office safe with a smile and hope in his face. Therefore, I guess the bank will give you a much grace period indeed to settle your accounts even it had been months already that you were not paying it. So if same case applies to your friend in UAE, even if he comes back there he will never be arrested much more that he will not be arrested if he comes here to Qatar for work who does not have knowledge of the debts he had in UAE...

Hello,

He will not have a problem to enter or leave Qatar.

I do not know if he currently is living in the UAE. Anyhow, his main issue is his loans as they are probably secured by cheques he has deposited. If the bank has given the cheques to the police he will be arrested when he tries to (re)enter the UAE regardless of which airport he comes through. He will be put in custody for up to 2-3 days before seeing a prosecutor. If the amount demanded by the bank is less than 15.000 AED he will be released after handing over his passport and will only get it back after settling the amount. If the amount requested by the bank is over 15.000 he will be sent to court and remain in jail until after the debt has been settled.
