Traffic violation

i was driving around the city center area when i passed the signal opposing it, at the time i was passing it it was flashing green and maybe turned yellow as i crossed but was definately not red. i accelerated to get passed it and as i passed i saw a camera flash, now I'm worried if its counted for crossing a red signal or simply for speeding. do cameras usually flash when speeding at a signal? and when would a camera start flashing for crossing a red signal?
In my country traffic signals at major intersections have a digital time panel attached which begins a count down by each second after the signals turn red or green. This allows motorists to calculate before hand if they would be able to cross the signal if it was green or switch off their car engines while waiting at the red light and restarting just at the proper time. This allows for saving of fuel and helps in reduced pollution.

As per my understanding one can cross till the green flash. but not cross when yellow flashes. but some people who follow you honk when one try to stop with yellow flashing.
traffic signal shld hav the timer so that every one can be sure tht they can cross the signal or not

so the flash could be from the excessive speed? because i am certain it was not even yellow when i crossed the signal
Cameras will flash once you go above 80 km/hr. Cameras would flash once the signal turns red.
Most Cameras will capture both speeding and breaking a red light
