Side earnings possible?

Being New in Qatar I would like to ask the more experienced and knowledgeable: I am a foreigner on a working visa to start with. I friend offered that I could earn some money if I help out his company to clean and update their server. My question: can I do that in a legal way? Can a company who is not my sponsor pay me and is it allowed me to have a side earning like that? If yes, what are the rules I need to keep in mind? Thank you or all inputs!

After the first 6 months, your sponsor can "loan" you to another company for the maximum of 6 months, but you will remain under your initial sponsor for that duration.

Legally, you can only perform work for your sponsor. "side earnings" are prohibited unless authorised by your sponsor
