repayment of loan provided by company
Hi,
I have a car loan provided by my company & it is not related to bank. Its a buyback system. Monthly installment gets deducted from my salary. After 3 yrs i have to return the car to my company. If i need to continue i can take it back for another 2yrs. After 2 yrs the car would be registered under my name. But now company has terminated me from my duties with 2 months notice & only 4 months is left for completing 3 yrs of my buyback loan & they are now asking me to pay the complete balance amount. Am i liable to pay it. The only amount i have is my end of service. But it will only cover 50%. They say without paying this they wont allow me to go back home & i don't want to continue in Qatar. What actions can they take against me in this situation & what action can i take against them if they dont let me go.
Car is registered under company's name. There are some repair works to be done against the car. Now company is verifying the repair cost. & they say may not get my benefits. My benefits will be deducted against my car. Do anybody have any idea what does our Qatar Labour law say against these situations? % of amount company can deduct from my end of services?
Dear
I think if you have good relationship with your HR department then attempt for a waiver of the outstanding amount against your leased car. Also try to explain them that its not you who is leaving the job instead the company has asked you to leave & you were never ready financially to handle such a situation.
Hopefully things should work.
Is the car registered in your name?, then sell it and payback the loan. If it is in the company name why should you pay them? Did you not have a copy of the terms and conditions at the time of providing loan to you?
