I've torn my achilles tendon and have a cast on for the next few weeks and am having trouble getting around, does anyone have a wheelchair that I could rent or borrow or knows where I can get one?
I have a basic wheelchair for sale - purchased in NOV-2011 and have used it for 9 weeks, post surgery. Please view the "for sale" section if you are interested.
I've tried Hamad but as I had the cast put on at Al Ali they won't help, the cost of buying one is very expensive for only a few weeks and Al Ali aren't helping.....you would think you'd be alble to hire this sort of thing somewhere in Doha....maybe a good business for someone eh!
I guess you can borrow as weel chair by submitting your Id card at the Hospital . But , I also fear thaht it might be only for Use inside the Hospital . But there is defintely a way which you can find out by calling Hamad medical .
Behind Rumailah Hospital there are several medical supply companies which will rent crutches, wheelchairs, etc. Having a slip from your physician would be helpful.
With the greatest of respect that was clearly not the intention of the request for help, I was trying to avoid spending money on a purchase that I only require for a few weeks, clearly if I had wanted to buy a wheelchair I wouldn't have asked for help or advice on how to rent/borrow one.
If you have any advice on how to rent/borrow a wheelchair I would be very greatful.

Renting (if any) is not advisable since you dont know who previously used it.
Unless they have autoclave ovens or soak the wheelchair in disinfectants, you couldn't be sure its hygienically safe.

Oh, i am sorry...I must be a little dim....btw. have you asked any pharmacies if wheelchairs are available for rent?

Ask at some pharmacies. could the hospital you were treated in not help you out or tell you where to get a wheelchair?
