Regarding NOC

Dear All,

Kindly suggest me on this below situation.

Currently I am working for Qatar Company on Business-work visa. I have received another offer from different company here in Qatar.

In order to process the work permit, they are saying we need NOC from your current company. I clearly told them that,'I am on Business Visa and don't have a residence permit here' but still they are asking for the NOC.

Is really NOC required to switch a company for which I am on Business Visa.

Thanks all for your understanding and kindly clarify me.

Thanks

In Qatar, there is this one visa rule, meaning, if a company has issued you a visa, you can never get another one NO MATTER WHAT WILL YOU DO. To cancel the visa, you have to ask the issuing company, it is sometimes easy, maybe hard, but not impossible depending on the company. Another way is to accept the offer and leave the company before your fingerprinting. Good Luck...

Hi all. I am again in a situation here. I tried convincing my new employer to apply visa for me as i will be exiting the country on travel. But the new employer did not help on time to apply for visa and within two weeks the present employer had applied business visa. and now the new employer say they cant get visa. I want to know as i am out of country can this business visa be cancelled somehow and the new employer can apply working visa for me. I will be thankful if someone of you can help me get out of this situation.

Have came across something like this. Even after exiting the country, the new company has asked to provide a different format of NOC to apply for new visa. This NOC is different than the NOC required while switching to new company and changing sponsorship being in the country itself. Not sure why and what format of NOC?

Thanks all for your replies.

But, If I exit from Qatar, and this new employer process my work visa, It will be fine right. I can come on the work visa with new employer.

Not sure how it goes.

Thanks

Your business visa under from the current company is your sponsor. Therefore, you need to present NOC if you will process work permit to the new company. Even tourist visa from travel agency or family visa under family sponsorship should issue an NOC if an individual wish to work in Qatar.

Consent of the party who brought you to qatar in the form of NOC is required to work for a different firm. Otherwise everyone will come easily to qatar and change jobs often.

I think you don't need NOC since you still don't have residence permit..

But I think they are playing safe because your current company might complain when you are at other company.

Thanks Gene for your reply.

But, My new company HR is asking me to provide the NOC in order to process work permit. Once this application got approved I can resign this old company and join in new one with new work visa.

Not sure how to deal this situation.

Thanks

The best way to deal with your problem is to exit Qatar and come back on the new company visa. That is if your new company will agree or have a visa for you. Business or tourist visa is easier to apply and once you arrive, they can convert to work hence, you don't need an NOC from your current company.
