Please help me with information
I need to know some information regarding the law for women to work who are under husband's sponsorship.
I joined in a fire fighting co. in March in a secretarial position. In this co.the salary is not on time. It is pending 2/3 months and after every 2/3 months they give salary for 1 month. I last recieved my salary on the last ramadan day but the salary was for July month. The salary situation is like this always.
Yesterday one person from Ministry Of labour came. he asked for salary report of all the person. And in the staff list my name is not there. It is the last of those staff who are under the co's visa or under contract.
I knew that it is not a problem if a women give his husband NOC during joining. I gave my NOC when i joined. But one of my female collegue is saying that it is not enough. Now my questions are-
1. Is it really not enough? do i have to make a contract with the co.?
2. If it is not enough and not legal what is the qatari law?
3. If the person from minsitry of labour know this what will be the consequences?
You will be in trouble. NOC is nothing in your case. You must need lbaour dept. ID (Permission) in order to work in Qatar. Company has to pay 50,000 QR if fail to presenet your labour ID to labour dept. people and you may face deportation or jail terms together with the cash penalty (not sure about the amount). Insist your company to get your labour dept. permission ASAP.
FS & Soniya for your reply...i'll ask for contract. There is no HR dept here. Staff visa or work permit procedure these work are done by accounts. So who will do the registration process? will it would be me or the co.? I heard that after giving NOC the co ask permission from MOL. But still they didn't do it. And they are saying that if the MOL ask then they will reply as i am under probition period of 3 month (where i am working for 8 months)and they will take permission after probition period.
If i have to go for registration what procedure i have to follow?
You got the answers above...
Let your company to pay fine incase they haven't made you to sign any contract letter stating that you are an employee of their company..
1. In any case you need to have a contract with your employer.
2. You need to register yourself in the labor department even if you are under husband's sponsorship.
3.If you have not registered in the labor dept and still in the payroll... the company will have to pay fine.
