yes they are illegal most in all over the world, beside you cannot stop people from buying them, that's what there money can afford, maybe before people can afford to pay for let say 100 riyals, but now a days as cost of living in every part of the world are very expensive, people are trying to be practical in other ways.

Maybe you can go to police station and complain about this shop. But after that do you think pirated dvd's will not come back? I've been into a shop selling me 10 riyals pirated dvd in secretive way but it is okey, because i want to watch a movie and don't like to watch in the cinema.

It might have a good progress if you complain in the police or what so ever, but they will come back, are you able to come back and let the store closed down again?

Think first before you act. No offense meaning.

The best Pirated DVD's come from Johor Baharu - Malaysia. They even produce an identical covers also.

10 - 20 Riyals a copy. Sond System is DTS compared to lousy Dolbi Digital DVD's in Qatar :)

of either buying a pirate DVD or Downloading a copy, by shutting down one shop you really are not going to achieve anything other than pushing such things further "underground" and I think Qatar has more pressing issues that need to be addressed other than stopping this sort of trade at present. Who's economy does it hurt? not Qatars just the production houses of MGM, Paramount, Sony, Colombia Tri- Star etc etc, like they don't make enough money already.

Funny story on this subject, a couple of years ago I went to a Rob Thomas concert I had already bought his CD, but just prior to his tour of Australia they released a tour cd not much different from the one I had already bought but it contained 4 new tracks, as with most concerts the artiste is there to promote his album, long story short he basically told everyone who had bought the original cd and not the special edition cd don't bother buying it for the new songs just go ahead and download them. Which in this day and age I thought was pretty cool of him. :)

if you get the shop closed down you arnt helping anyone all you are doing is getting the poor guy working in the shop dragged to the police station and chucked out of the country and then he has to go back to his family (probably in India) with no money and he cant get another job here for what five years think about it first if its not hurting anyone let it be!

I soooooo agree with Boogieman. It is offensive to a decent person such as myself to allow the purveyance of copy dvds in this country of hidden culture and understated beauty. Bring back Hanging I say.....hey ho....back to the gin.....

I think you selected a really good name for yourself. Boogieman. Ok you want to close down the cheap DVD shop. What else do you want to do? I recommend you start with the traffic. We need lots of help with all these people who ignore the traffic rules. I think that would be more worthwhile and maybe you can even safe lives! Much better than trying to close down a DVD shop and more rewarding.
