Pharmacy
By Michelle89 •
Can anyone tell me a good place to refill my prescriptions at a reasonable price. Also, does anyone know if they would fill a prescription from the states? It is only for blood pressure and cholesterol medicine. Thanks. I appreciate any help!
All medicines are available in Qatar (mainly if not totally over the counter). Cholesterol lowering drugs are not a problem also lisinopril, diabetic pills etc are available but the cholesterol lowering one is expensive..
A word of warning, the pharmacy at the Centre can be extra expensive, I was also offered a lower dosage tablet (having to buy 2 boxes) at an inflated price.
There are a number of good pharmacies on al-Saad Street.
Thanks for your replies. We were able to get the medication we needed without any hassle. Thanks again.
Hi Michelle 89, there is a good pharmacy at The Centre
Hi Michelle89,
You don't need prescritions for most things here and I think all the pharmacies are government regulated when it comes to prices so any Pharmacy is fine. In my experience all medication here is reasonably priced here.
I often go to the Pharmacies in the shoppings centres. They always have the medication my husband and I need. He take blood pressure medication too. I have only needed a prescription for things like cream for babies with cortisone in them. You will also need a prescription if using Hamad Hospital's pharmacy's as most of their medication is subsidized and very cheap.
Hope this helps.
