My Kettle is blowing whistle .......why
I have a Black & Decker Kettle, which is now 9 years old.
I used to use it rarely only for tea,, may be twice a day.
It was working fine.
Last week onwards, it is blowing whistle while boiling the water. The whistle is louder enough to be heard in the whole house. Till the water is boiled, the whistle goes on.
Wht may be the reason ?
due to this continuous usage for years, there is a white scale developed inside the kettle ?
Is there any danger in using this ?
I am not worried about the cost of a kettle, but whehter any electric short circuit and fire accident ...
Get rid of that white scale by boiling some water mixed with vinegar in the kettle.
Wait For another ten years then you can gift this crap to your daughter on her wedding as a wedding gift
Pls try to take a single penny out it
Don't you think nine years are enough
Please through it and buy a new one.
Or are u waiting for black and decker to replace it with a new one and take this antique nine year old model
try to scrape that scale off. if it stops whistling, that may be the reason.
Like other kettle, there is an effect called "impinging shear flow instability," and it is the same reason that a vacuum cleaner hose will make a sound if you whirl it around your head. The vortices cause pockets of oscillating air pressure or a vibration in the air that travels through the intervening space and strikes your ear drum as sound waves.
he is waiting for his mate. did u do something with the girl friend kettle. ;)
