Check with any exchange, you can take demand draft in South African currency and can encash at S.A. on the spot.
i dont know about 4K $ limit of WU or bank transfer, but i have sent much more then that to Account. Visit Alfardan or Call them, get a number From Google. they will tell u more what u need.
I suggest you talk to the people at the bank where you may be having an account or otherwise talk to any bank here. They may have a way out. Possibly, your bank may give you a certified bank draft in your name which you could deposit in your bank account once you are home.
Western Union or any other money transfer company work under rules set out by the Qatari government. As such if WU is unable to transfer more than $ 4K as you state, it will be the same with any other money transfer people.
Yes, it is to S. Africa, but WU have a cap of USD 4K, I want to send more than that.
