I don't believe that i lost 5 kg in 10 days.. by simply just counting calories and walking for 30 minutes everyday.
any one would like to share his/her experience?

I have tried General Motors diet plan and it worked. I have lost 3 to 4 kgs within a week.

But even after you have stopped dieting, you really have to maintain your weight with regular exercise.

maybe, its the exercise thats doing the trick.

dear,

preffer to eat vegetables. avoid or reduce to eat meat, if you have a habit of smoking, alcohol please stop it. because of these kinds of food, make you feel heaviness in the body, feeling sleepy, and create restless in the mind. then you feel whole day as like hopeless.

moderate daily activity, little bit walk, exercise, yoga, meditations make you feel light, calm, cool mind.

It might be working Zac but it's not sustainable. When you reach your goal weight and try to eat more you'll just gain it all back. And eating under 1000 calories a day is NOT healthy, you shouldn't go below 1200 without risking malnutrition.

I don't feel weak, my BMR was 3800kcal, I used to eat around 2600-2800 kCal (not really counting calories). I'm currrently eating around 2200-2400 (my current BMR is 2100).

I'm eating a healthy mix of Protein, Carbs, Fiber, Vitamins (not "diet food", I just eat less) and I'm followed by a dietitian.

The rule is simple. Your food intake in calories should be less than what you burn. You set the mechanism , either limit your food intake or increase your exercise level. I have maintained my weight 75-78kg for the past 9 years. My secret:Change your exercise pattern every 6 months, boost your metabolism with caffeine & don't starve your self.

Diets are not practical....even GM Diet which says

Day One All fruits except bananas.

Day Two All vegetables.

Day Three A mixture of fruits and vegetables

Day Four Bananas and milk.

Day Five Today is feast day.

Day Six Beef and vegetables.

Day Seven Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.

You cannot buy food with that table in mind....

How can you have banana and milk all day? You go to a restaurant & order Banana & Milk? Or order Only Fruits & Vegetables?

I m not saying it will not work....It will work ...for a short time...but a person cannot adher to it for life.

Only theory one can adher for life is the Jackmohan theory...lol

Im trying to from long time ago.

Nowadays Im doing 8km walking/running in gym (controling pulse in order to avoid too much cardio effort).

But I havent been able to go down from 92 kgs.

(My normal weight is around 85) - I dont know why. Maybe the food here, or the lack of exercise (using car everytime for everything).

But I will continue. Hope if it doesnt help me to lose weight at least I will gain cardio resistance.

Light to moderate beer drinking can have many health benefits as human body naturally needs the ingredients found in beer, except for chemicals and preservatives from the growing and production process. An average beer contains the following:

 carbohydrate

 sodium

 protein

 calcium,

 potassium,

 phosphorus

 vitamins B, B2, and B6

 alcohol

Alcohol use in moderation improves good cholesterol and prevents blood from clotting in a way similar to aspirin. Ingredients like B vitamins or folates have been shown to reduce homocysteine levels in the blood and reduce heart disease risk. Phytoestrogens coming from hops, which are used in brewing process, prevent bone loss. Beer has also a relaxing effect on the body thereby reducing stress and helping you sleep better. Finally, most of the weight gain people commonly attribute to beer drinking has to do with the snacks that accompany beer drinking.

However, abuse of alcohol can cause addiction, depression and other mental and psychological consequences. Excessive drinking contributes to liver diseases and may increase the risk of alcohol-related accidents.

Alcohol is a still very much an unknown in the health field. It is known that over use leads to addiction and major health problems, including cirrhosis of the liver. But in small quantities, one or two beers a day, there appear to be health benefits. And alcohol leads to the removal of inhibitions, which mean people do things they wouldn't, and often shouldn't, ever do when sober, including live changing things, such as sex and driving under the influence and even drugs.

Most produced beer contains chemicals and preservatives. Some individuals have sensitivities to hops and hop oils. Many dogs can die from eating hops, though it doesn't appear to be a problem with humans.

Apples contain a lot of fibers.

Don't eat wagonloads of appleseeds, each one contains a little bit of cyanide. This is done by the tree in order to spread its seeds. Our bodies and those of animals will more likely excrete the seeds and not digest them when they are a little toxic. The toxic is not digested but you should be careful with the consumption of crushed seeds.

The vitamin C content of apples depends on what kind of apple it is. Most sorts contain a lot of vitamin C.

Weight Loss....

Technically there are only 3 ways to loose weight:

1. Exercise.

2. (a)Curbing food intake (Dieting) or (b)Improving metabolism.

3. Liposuction.

1 & 3 no need to explain & if one had the time & access to Gym/sports No1 would be easy.

No2 (a)Curbing food intake (Dieting) ie avoiding certain kind of food...is like driving into a dead end road - ie no use. The reasons are many some are - Difficulty in following a particular diet.... difficulty of making certain kind of food and also cultural reasons.

Eg you cant ask a Keralite (malabari) to avoid rice....impossible! You cannot ask a person like me to avoid bread...all the time...impossible!

Also if a person is into eating arabic food ....it doesnt make any sense to ask him to REPLACE his basic food with something culturally different....like Italian/Chinese/Thai...etc.

2(b)...to follow...

2(b) Improving metabolism....

The easiest, healthy and the most lasting way of weight loss is to improve one's metabolism.

A body's metabolism can take only take so much abuse. Abuse means:

1. Less than 8 hrs of sleep at a stretch.

2. Not drinking water early in morning.

3. Wrong Eating habits like light breakfast heavy dinner.

1. Body requires 8 hours of sleep. To digest food properly, repair tissues & to wash out toxic materials. It does this best when one is asleep.

2. Drink at least 2 large glasses of luke warm water early in the morning (half hour to one hour before breakfast). Drinking 4 glasses is the best. This washes out all the toxins in your body. It also improves the taste of food. After a couple of weeks you literally thirst for water early in the mornings.

3. Eating light breakfast and heavy dinner is the biggest no-no. Its as useless as having 5 cups of strong coffee and trying to sleep. At night (after sunset) the body is winding off (similar to a pc backing up important files before going into sleep mode).

The least amount of time to digest food is around 12 hours. So at sunset its still digesting the leftover of your breakfast and lunch!!!....dont give it another big task. Eat a very Light Dinner.

If you follow these 3 simple rules you can eat whatever you want for breakfast & Lunch but light or liquid food for dinner!

Also do keep in mind :

* Anything that lost fast can be gained fast.

* The body put on weight over a period of time dont expect it to go back to the same shape that was 3 yrs ago....it will maybe in 1 to 1 and half yrs.

* The body weight fluctuates in the initial stages. Dont be discouraged.

Yep counting calories and exercise works, but...what you ladies have to remember is that men lose weight faster and easier than women do. Its the estrogen in our bodies that fight the weight loss. God made it so that we would always have that extra reserve in case there was a time of starvation or deprivation, so that we could maintain our bodies to have babies...
