Lets Join Hands To Help The Needy

Dear All,

While going through the posts during the past few days I have observed a lot of volunteers ready to help others......I take this opportunity to introduce an Idea for helping those "Lower Middle Class People" who are too proud to ask for help and almost every one of us must be knowing some one like that.

This idea came to me after I came to know about an old man working in a School in Doha for about 20 years his only son died of Cancer few years back and now at this age he has the liability of supporting the widow and children of his Son........ there are many cases around us like this ... let us create a fund to help people like this man in that fund each one of the volunteers can contribute (Any amount starting from 10 riyals) on monthly basis and the sum can be given to such needy people.

This is my first effort for such a social cause and I hope that there are more experienced people in this filed who can help and come up with suggestions for the practical implementation.

Regards

Well I did not know about the legality of this matter...but there must be a way to complete an effort like this....

You people are right about embassies and other organizations but you know how difficult it is to get help from such places.... more over my idea was to help those who are shy and hesitate in going to such places, such people don not ask for help and keep suffering quietly......

I like the idea. Maybe you could speak to SPEED about it, and see how we could be of assistance. BUT, money - we are not allowed to handle. If money is involved, QACA will be haunting you all lol ...

as far as Pakistani nationals, there is a welfare fund working in Qatar under Pakistan embassy.. If that person is from Pakistan then its case can be referred to this welfare fund..

QLVG mostly do not deal with any matters concerning collection of money as this raises other complications and legal issues, however if there are special cases we can arrange the right people (authority) to help those in need.

Please contact QLVG manager Speed for further assistance. If its a genuine case he will look into the matter and of course we will all help out in any way we can. Just my two cents.

Be aware that unauthorized charity is illegal in Qatar!

"In May 2009, the Government issued a number of deportation orders to a multinational group of Christian expatriates for their involvement in unauthorized organized charity activities at labor camps in the industrial areas."
