Legal Problem

I am an American who was thrown in jail (one night) for aledgedly damaged some property (innocent). Can anyone recommend a lawyer? What is the punishment?

It is a Minor offence judging by the bail amount. don't worry you will get a small fine. That's all. no need to engage a lawyer :)

Yes, I was brought to the PP. Bail was 300QR.

Did the police bring you to the Public Prosecutor or take a statement from you because before they charge you they have to take your statement and then go with the charge and the statement to the Public Prosecutor. It seems to me they let you out of jail again so wait and see what happens.

I would advise you to stand up for the trial alone and see the outcome and appeal against the verdict on the same day (No need of lawyer as court officials themselves prepare the necessary papers and approvals)then engauge a lawyer. let me know if you need the assistance of a competant lawyer.

the lawyer will cost you around 15k - 20k thats the fee.
