Learn Arabic

I am sort of trying to teach myself Arabic, but would like to learn it properly, so am looking for 'ways and means', be they group classes or one-on-one tutoring... any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to find a good, experienced tutor to do one-on-one classes a couple of times per week, but am not sure how much this would cost?

I have heard mention of some "free" group classes.... does anyone know who does these? Has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

Does anyone else on QatarLiving study Arabic language? What format of study do you do and how do you find it?
