Kuwait vs Qatar

Hello everyone! I have some questions about Kuwait if you can help. How is this country for expats compared to Qatar? Mild or tough? Safe or less safe due to Iraq vicinity? How are the locals, how's the atmosphere.

Thanks in advance!

I lived in Kuwait for 8 years before I moved to Qatar. I think Mr Khalid has summarized the Kuwait experience very well. I second every statement he made. I would also add that the employees in local government office are the worst. Their laws are subject to daily change. The only thing I miss about Kuwait is their excellent road system and yes of course IKEA… hopefully I don’t have to wait for that for very long….. .

Overall Kuwait is not a bad country to live. There r few pros and cons as compare to Qatar.

Positive points

Cheap from Qatar in terms of rent and almost similar to Saudi

Well developed country with excellent road network similar to Dubai

Good shopping malls and very good food

No exit permit requirement in the country

Negative points

Very bad attitude of Kuwaitis and worst among all GCC

Difficult to get visas of certain nationalities and if you belong to that nationality sometime you cannot sponsor even your wife or relative for visit visa

Not safe for women to drive and go alone on the streets due to bad attitude of Kuwaiti's

Laid back attitude of ppl and disaster for young and energetic ppl ....

Not a expat friendly enviroment like Qatar and Dubai

All depends on what colour and where the Expat is from.

Kuwaitis are thought to be the most arrogant of all GCC.
