How to use Skype??

Well Someone wrote me an email asking about how to use skype. Since they dont sell the cards around.

There's a really easy way.

1) Go to Doha Bank

2) Ask them to provide you the application for Internet Surfer's Master card which is a pre-paid credit card only to be used on internet.

3) Transfer as much money as you want in your prepaid credit card.

4) Download Skype to your pc from www.skype.com

5) After installation, open skype and go to the accounts section

6) Pay them online using the prepaid credit card

7) Make your phone calls

Everytime your credit finishes in skype, it will recharge automatically.

To know the balance on your prepaid credit card visit www.issuers.com or Doha Bank's website.

Doha bank’s prepaid card is called Click card, I have one, charge is QR50 for 1 year, and it works as a visa card while shopping online. I have a Doha bank account so I am recharging it online from my account, it take one working day for the money to be present in card once you request to transfer money from account to the card. Alternatively, I think (I never tried), you can charge it in any of Doha bank branches, .

I heard IBQ also has one like this.

As far as I know, you can’t charge just voip with that as they do not have credit card purchase option, if some1 know how to charge just voip by credit card pls let me know.

Something similar was available with QNB

You buy a card and had the option to refill the card with minimum of QR500.

(Yahoo Voice VOIP is the cheapest of them all).

Then one year later QNB wanted me to buy a Credit Card to avail this

facility.

Thats when I stopped buying from them.

I dont understand why link  credit to prepaid? If I wanted credit-card then I would not need prepaid. And I also dont understand the Bank's unwillingness to link it to your ATM/Debit card.

Its like  - Why sholud I apply for a loan facility when I want to pay cash?

Allrite Samiko, sounds fair. But I dont think anyone is dumb to not know what a prepaid credit card is.

Thexonic, the information that I'd posted is addressed to people which are not familliar with skype and how to use it. This is my point. I don't want to fight with you and I'll leave your unprovoked qualifications without comments.

The so-called "pre-payed" card actualy is a virtual or internet credit card. It will be issued based on your existing credit card (Master, Visa,...). You are to choose what will be its credit limit. All details and charges you have to discuss with your bank. Its also possible to buy a skype credit with your regular credit card, but it's risky - it could be hacked. The other way to buy a skype credit is not directly with your virtual card, but via Pay Pal which is more secure. The skype credit will allow you to call to a land line or mobile anywhere in the world for a pretty reasonable and low cost. Also you may use skype for free PC-PC call, chat and a lot more.

That pre-paid card is good to know about.  Was advising someone on buying an internet service the other day and this person's inability to get a credit card was a stumbling block.  Useful
