how to report working during prohibited time?

new here, please be patient.

just want to ask what is the proper way to report a contractor who does not follow safety rules by letting workers stay out in the dessert despite the labor decree to stop work at this time?

work until 11:30AM without any shade from 5:30AM.
work resumes at 2:30-5:30PM (exposed to 50+ degree heat while waiting for transportation because this is a road project--additional 30minutes)

staying at labor camp so limited contact to Doha and civilization in general.

thanks and hope you stay hydrated in this Doha heat.

As stated, that particular Company is complying, at least with the break laws, if, and only if, they are provided as a minimum a shaded area, and cool water and toilet facilities, AND the break hours are prominently displayed at the workplace.

I work in QHSE Management and take this very seriously, as does the Management of my Company, thankfully.

All over the GCC there are similar rules, except of course Saudi Arabia, where, apparently the teachings of the Koran are not understood, at least in the compassion stakes. They may be making similar requirements next year.

If you feel that a Company is not complying at all, then you should contact the Ministry of Labour, and they will hopefully do a snap inspection. They appear to be proactive, and truly interested in the welfare of all workers, as evidenced by their latest Workshop held on Monday this week.

If they have the break you describe, it is legal. Sad but true.

If they are having a break from 11:30AM till 3:00PM...means the contractor is following the law & I am afraid, you cant really lodge a complaint against them.
