Have an interested buyer. Car is serviced, inspected, registered and insured for a year. How do I transfer? Do I need to go through a dealer?

if it will be transfered in your wife's name. your wife should get an NOC or no objection certificate/letter from her sponsor. if it happens that you are the sponsor then it is easy, just go to a typing shop tell them to make a no objection letter because you will buy a 2nd hand car in your wife,s name.

you will sign it and attach your qid copy

also make a copy of your wife's qid. see to it that the letter or NOC is typed in arabic.

before going to murror ask your seller if he/she has the complete papers. such as istemara, insurance, clearance letter from the bank if the car was under loan before and was paid and id of the seller/owner of the car.

then go to murror together with the owner of the car. go in the typing shop, any of the shops outside the entrance or inside the compound of traffic dept. they will require the registration/istemara of the car, qid of booth seller and buyer and they will ask your mobile numbers and address.

after the typing, pay 10 rials and tell the typist that you will be the one to process the transfer. because if they will be the one to process, they will ask for 100rials as processing fee.

so get the completed form, attached the original istemara, copy of owner's id, clearance letter from the bank if the car was under loan and was paid. otherwise no need if the car has no bank obligation. your id, noc and copy of sponsors id if he is a person. if its a company a stamp from the company will do with CR (certificate of registration).

then go inside the traffic department (vehicle registration and transfer section) get a number and wait for your number to be called.

if your number is called, both the buyer and seller will sign the form infront of the officer.

the buyer usually needs to pay the transfer fee of 200qr via card to the officer.

then walla.... wait for your new istemara copy to be printed.

while waiting the buyer can give the payment of the car if not yet done earlier.

hope this info helps.

mz.0000 is right but before doing what he said, check your insurance. if your insurance is full get an ID copy from your buyer, go to your insurance company and transfer it to his name. then go to murror for transfer. if your insurance is 3rd party, you can go directly to murror and follow mz.0000. other wise time will be wasted.

note: if the sponsor of your buyer is a private person or company he need to get an NOC to buy a car from his sponsor. if his/her sponsor is moi or partly owned by gov. such as qp,rasgas, hamad, and others no need for NOC.

its simple, you do not need dealer.

just get the cash car value from your buyer.

go to trafic police department (madinat khalifa or any other)

you will need your Qatari id, buyer Qatari id, and a letter from his sponsor NOC for car

you will find typest outside the traffic police office, they will type the form for you.

go to registration, and sign the form at front of police officer, they will transfer the car to buyer name

good luck
