hotmail.co.uk
I've sent mail from a qatar.net.qa address to two different hotmail.co.uk addresses this weekend and it has been returned with the following message:
"Temporary error returned by SMTP partner.
smtp;421 RP-001 The mail server IP connecting to Windows Live Hotmail server has exceeded the rate limit allowed. Reason for rate limitation is related to IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an email/network admin please contact your E-mail/Inter"
The "IP/domain reputation" would be Qtel's 3rd rate one, I suppose? Opinions, anyone?
Alternatively,qatar.net.qa can register with hotmails SNDS service to avoid such blacklisting in the future
Generally major email service providers like hotmail and yahoo do rate limiting so that they can protect their customers from being spammed.
The above error message indicates that there have been too many mail connections to hotmail.co.uk from qatar.net.qa, hence this has made hotmail.co.uk suspicious that the domain/IP qatar.net.qa may be indulging in spamming.
there is nothing that you may be able to do, its the administrators of the domain qatar.net.qa will have to contact hotmail to get the IP/Domain delisted
I have sent to hotmail.co.uk and nothing got returned???
