Do I stand a good chance If I file a case against my husband, we're both muslim, he's an expat in Qatar commiting an adultery, with outstanding personal and credit loan.
qaiserahmed: that I can't understand, I'm pretty sure with all the legal authorities they will somehow assist you, I don't mean no harm but what's the meaning of living in a country that so uptight in belief not to mention condemn adultery then tolerating it? what's impossible to prove if you have a video already they can check the record if the suspect left qatar or not right? and whats not? and not to mention the guy is a muslim.
LUISCART: EMBASSY WILL NEVER GET INVOLVED....THEN COMES THE PROOF OF ADULTRY....EVEN IF YOU HAVE VIDS...EVEN THEN IMPOSSIBLE TO PROOF....THAT THIS ACT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN QATAR. DISCUSS WITH YOUR WISE FRIENDS...NOT THE LAWYERS....THEY LOVE THE MONEY FROM THE CLIENTS.
luisacart: Frankly, I believe any Embassy would not get involved in personal disputes. I understand your feelings but you can be advised best only by a lawyer here. It is a complicated case as you are not present Qatar.
Thank You acchabaccha for the information. However, as I mentioned above I do not reside in Qatar thus, I can go there to file a complaint to our embassy and legal authorities to report his immoral act. I will give them all the hard evidences. Do you have any idea what could possibly gonna happen once the police will detain him? how long will be the trial, imprisonment and possibly deportation? He needs to learn his lesson even a hard way, we all know that adultery is a big sin in Islam under Shariah law, did everything to save our marriage even told him to stop the affair then accepted the fact that he has a mistress but now he's disregarding our kid that the thing which I cannot allow.
You will need the assistance of a lawyer to advise you best in your case. It may be somewhat costly for you if you decide to hire a lawyer. But it will definitely not take several years. Possibly, you may be able to get a court verdict within just six months but only a lawyer could advise you on this. Also, there is no such thing as "stoning a person to death" in Qatar or any of the Middle Eastern or Muslim countries. Those who make such statements simply reflect the venom they carry in their blood against Islam and the Muslims, and this not the first time such people have expressed their outright hatred openly.

MM: I don't reside in Qatar though, I know that I can forward the evidences to MOI or any legal authorities, last and I know best option is to go there, with all the proof and hearing, jurisdiction do I have to be there? will it take 7 years max? I haven't come to a point where I want him to be stoned to death hence, I'm sure I want to teach him a lesson. Does the decision of Shariaa court will consider my discretion since I'm the victim/complainant?
Luisa, Think for 7 days before you finally decide ........... beginning a fight is easy but one needs endurance to face it boldly for the 3 - 5 - 7 years to come ........... you need a store of cash , good mental & physical health , some emotional support from a close family member & deep prayers / faith to gain some ground for this task ............. prepare your mind weather you want to punish him or teach a lesson .......... punishing will be the right approach if you wish to go ahead .......... one needs firm determination about the goal .......... but a caution is necessary to keep yourself standing like a mountain ....... come what may .............

If you have a solid proof he will probably be stoned to death.
Yes! Take the bugger to the cleaners
