Wat to do...wer to go for help...is it legal on part of company to ask such hefty amount has deposit for goin on vacations.
Please advice
Thank you all for ur comments and advice....i will try to convince them to my best.
There is something going wrong . Either from Employer or from Employee. Such a demand is illegal but the employee can't say anything until he decide to leave the job or retain. This is the bad part of the job contracts. The Employer can screw the employee if they are not happy with them or they are scared that you won't be back from vacation. But still I do not understand how QAR7500/- can compensate the leaving of employees. as a well accepted principle of international labour market, 30 days are enough for a company's HR department to replace an employee who are leaving the company. If they are not capable of this, such companies are ( i don't know what word to use). Some company's does not respect the labour laws and contract terms. They Find options to safeguard themselves and ultimately the employee has to loose his job in the middle and no one to support if he goes to case and the employer take advantage of this situation. No System currently available to identify such fraudulent employers. Wait for some changes in the future!!!! I will Pray for you. If you can send me a message with the company details, may be some one can talk to them to solve this problem. But always your job is at risk!
If your company is confident that they have done good to you, compensated you equally and treated you with respect, then your company need not be afraid.
Not allowed.. Tell them its against labor law...if still insisting drag them to labor department
Unfortunately that hotline will only be for people employer on QF projects. Other workers don't have access to it.

It's because so many people have left on 'emergency leave' and for vacations that now a lot of employers are no longer issuing exit permits, or if they do they make these requests.
It's probably not legal for them to demand a deposit, but then it's not legally required for them to give you an exit permit either.
If you try to lodge a legal case about it, then you will be on a travel ban until the case is resolved, and then you really can't go on vacation!!
I dont think it is legal... try to have a conversation with your employer explaining it is illgal and that you already purchased tickets...if not then ask about formal complain procedure within the organization... may be HR complaint procedure... then try getting in touch with your embassy and/or ministry of labour
