Family Visa

I am going to be relocating to Qatar if my employment works out. Who usually applies for family visa? Employer or do I have to do this on my own? Any idea how much it costs?

Will they give family visa on employment in Qatar so that on my first visit itself I bring my family (wife and child) to Qatar with me or will they initially only grant visa for only me to come alone?

If I have to come alone, then once in Qatar, how long do I have to wait to apply for family visa?

Can you please guide me on documentation required, process and procedure as I am new to this?

You will need to wait six months before you can apply as the authorities need six months bank statement showing your salary which must be a minimum QR 10000 (or maybe 12,000 as I am not sure of the latest regulation.) The company PRO can help you apply or you can do it yourself. There are no charges for applying. You may get a family visa on your first attempt or you may have to wait and try again if unsuccessful in the first attempt. You will need your marriage contract translated into Arabic and attested by relevant authorities in your country and also by the Qatar embassy/consulate in your country. This is true for the birth certificate of your child also. Your wife's passport and also your child's passport should carry your name as husband/father.
