Driving License conversion refused

The traffic department at Madinat Khalifah has refused my request to convert my license to a Qatari License.
I have been told that a possible way around this is to see the captain at the office and request (beg) for my license to be converted.
Has anyone done this? I mean see the captain for any reason?

Ohoo..You want a Qatar licence on a UK learners license ..
I agree UK has high driving standards but this does not mean a UK learner can upgrade to full Qatar license.

Choose a driving school which is convenient for you to get to it such as one closest to your place of work or residence. Some schools also provide free pick up and drop service and you will need to check which ones do. It will give you some savings.
Provisional is a "learner's" license. It allows you to learn to drive a car with a view to passing your test and obtaining a Full license
What's the difference between Provisional & Full UK license ?

I did my direct driving test in Gulf Driving, some of my friends did it at Al Khebra. Good Luck. Be sure that you are the 1st five to be inline for the direct driving test. Most after that have high probability of failure after, because the police starts to loose his good mood.

I also had a provisional UK one, but was refused, took the whole test and got the license. So no need to fret, you won't get your Malaysian license exchanged even if you talked to the captain, don't waste your time. Just go for direct test.
IB, No need to beg .............. Just go for all new training & test for the skill based licence ............ Prove your capacity ................... forget the time & money you would loose for not being humble & polite in front of an officer and explain your position ............. No need .... ...........
