By Oryx• 12 Jun 2008 09:06

I don't shop often and I don't cook...so there isn't anything in the fridge apart from fuit and salad.

I also detest junk food.

My weakness is chocolate.

raindrops try steaming tilapia fish, then spread some low-fat mayonaisse.

get 2 heads of garlic chop them up brown them in a skillet then sprinkle generously on your fish/mayo creation, it's great!

tip:

when steaming fish always put cloves of garlic in the boiling water it will remove some of the nasty fishy smell

notfromhere try my tuna kebabs

fresh tuna cut into cubes, season with lemon juice, salt and pepper let stand for maybe 20 minutes. skewer it with red and green bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, leeks, and any vegetable you want, sometimes i add fresh pineapples and its great! after skewering, grill it.

try this sauce of mine:

vinegar maybe 2 tablespoons, 1 tablespoon of soysauce, 1/2 teaspoon sugar mix it up, put chopped spring onion or an onion, then for some spice add chopped red chili

enjoy!

brandy, i don't eat desserts its for my husband actually, he loves desserts he says that it "cleans the palate" he just enjoys eating something in front of the TV. and my husband is one of those people who can eat anything and not gain an ounce! AAARRRGGGHHH! it is so unfair!

Boggled, I avoid beef and lamb too. And believe me, this is not easy in an Egyptian family, lol!! I love fish but I'm not too good at cooking it. So we end up eating a LOTTTT of chicken! But then there's that pesky salmonella you have to watch out for!

I think if I didn't have to feed a family, I'd be a vegetarian by now.

Anyone have any good fish recipes?

chicken is good as long as all the skin has been removed and you don't cook it in oil.

Fish also, the mercury worry is something I can't comment on as I don't know the dangers or amounts meant to be in the fish

my daily intake of food is now

some sort of cereal with fibre and fruit for breakfast.

fruit and maybe yoghurt for lunch

then in the evening, either chicken or steak with plenty of fresh vegetables, I also cut out the alcahol except for Fridays when I have one or 2 :)

I feel better for changing my diet and it doesn't have to be boring.

Making vegetable curry for tonight mmmmmm!!!

As for fast food its better if you eat less fastfood and microwaved food.

But Dieting as a whole doesnt work...Its like closing your nose so as to breath lesser air. If you do that its harmful for your body. Its going to make your body weak.

My advise to everybody is eat as much as you can from 6 or 7 am till 7pm. Drink only fluids after 7pm (that doesnt include liquor and softdrinks).

It takes 12 hrs for the body to digest Veg. food.

It takes more than 12hrs for it to digest fried veg food.

It takes 24-48 hrs for the body to digest non-veg food.

So if you eat nonveg food without break the body cannot digest it so starts storing food to break down later. But the stomach doesnt get time to break down that food as the eating is faster than the digestion.

This leads to other complications culminating in various disease.

Your body got to digest what you ate. If you take care of your digestion your stomach will take care of you for a long long time.
