Christmas in Dubai

By Minoush

We are traveling to Dubai over Christmas. We have never been before. Any recommendations on what to see/do relating to Christmas activities, especially Christmas Eve and Day?
Also, I know there are a ton of fantastic restaurants there, but I have no idea which are really good out of the hoards listed.

Any recommendations on restaurants that are kid friendly, not fast food, and not chains. By kid friendly I mean an 8 and 10 year old, somewhat well behaved.
I don't need them to be entertained but I don't want a stuffy atmosphere either.

A place that would have the same atmosphere as any of our souk restaurants.
