Dear all,
I have a car and the license is expired since March, 2014. I have a problem with the gearbox thats why I didnt go for renewal. Please advise.
Thanks alot, i wrote it in a wrong way, it is the Istimara which is expired since beginning or March, 2014.My car is older than 3 years so i did not go for the inspection as i have a problem with the gearbox which will be solved within 2 weeks (Spare parts issue). if i am willing to sell the car is there anyway without renewing the istimara? Thanks a lot for all your comments
I'm not sure what kind of advise you need. You have 45 days to renew estimara (from date of expiry). Beyond that, you need to present proof that your car is with the garage for repair. Police captain can wipe out violation of not registering your car on time (costs 500QR). If you cannot give proof, then you have to pay the violation.
Fix the issue as soon as you can. If your car is more than 3 years old, you will have to take it FAHES for technical inspection (Industrial Ara, Abu Hamour or Wakra). Once you pass the inspection, you will need to take the document to your insurance agent. Get your insurance documents and go to the Traffic dept. (Madinat Khalifa, Rayyan, Old Airport, Mamoura....) and renew your car registration.
If your car is less than 3 year old, you can skip the technical inspection. With a gear box issue, I am assuming your car is more than 3 years old. Hope this helps!
Also, you have a month to fix this after your registration has expired.
License is yours right and I believe you don't have any problem with your "own" gear box why you didn't go for renewal what is the link between your car gear box and your driving license renewal???
