Hi there, I arrive in September so can anyone recommend a good place where a girl can be pampered for the day? Just after the basics really like a facial, manicure, pedicure etc. Not bothered about joining a health club, just need a bit of me time once in a while...thanks :)

will definately check it out when I arrive. As for the frizz can you get Pantene smooth and sleek out there? Thats what I use and when I came over last time my hair was great, no frizz at all, oh and a pair of damn good straigtheners!!

Had my first haircut and colour at the Four Seasons on Friday and I'm really pleased with the result. The service was good, they do pretty much whatever you ask for. I was quite conservative as it was my first time there... but there were women in there getting really bold colours and extensions and they looked great.

Prices were good compared to the UK as well, I had a top stylist (Hasan) and the cut and blowdry was QR250. Highlights were QR400 but they double it if you have more than one colour so it can get a bit pricey. If you want to come out feeling really pampered you can get a manicure and pedicure at the same time...can't wait for my next visit!

Jasskat - embrace the frizz, lets all have big hair together.

Patrice Salon in Landmark Mall is really good for guys cuts. There is also a Patrice Salon at Sheraton and there will also be one opening in Villagio, but the guys at Landmark do a really good job. It's just under 100 QR for a cut, so it's pricier, but they always have constantly have normally a line of customers.

Can one of you ladies who go to Maire Claire tell me about how much she charges for cut and highlights? Thanks -

I think that Marie Claire at Salon Francaise is the best hairdresser in town. She is on holiday right now but will be back in september. Her salon is on Salwa road, between Midmac & Qatar decoration, close to Ciao pizza. The number is: 4689211. Have a good hair day!

We arrived in Doha from the UK in July. I haven't heard rave reviews of any hairdressers here but I'm trying the Four Seasons next week so I'll let you know how it turns out..

Hunimidity isn't too bad at the minute but apparently it's on the way...big hair here I come!

On a similar note, do any of the ladies here recommend any first class hairdressers in Doha?

Canuk, what about the hairdresser at the Four Seasons? Any good?

I am told the Lebanese guys are the best.

Arriving from UK this weekend and worried about the humidity.

If you want a more rustic/local setting try the Six Senses Spa at Al Sharq Hotel. The whole hotel and facilities are designed in a traditional Gulf manner.

For a contemporary setting I too like the Four Seasons Spa. They have lots to offer and good quality treatments.

I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want- an adorable pancreas?
