There is a particular saloon i've been dealing with since I came to Qatar. I regard them as the best in town.

They are located in the Mansoora district (the barbershop St.) Most taxi drivers would know where it is. The name of the saloon is "Sadaf" and it is small. Otherwise, you could go to Sadd street and there some near the Islamic Bank i think.

Welcome to Qatar and I hope you have a good stay here. Most Asian businesses (eateries, massage and shops) are in or around Nasr street. There are also new Chinese restaurants being opened around Doha.

There is a number of people from Singapore working in Oil&Gas. I have also met business people from Singapore in the contracting and construction field.

I guess if u r from Singapore nothing beat Singapore in eateries. There is no such Hawkers Centre in Doha.

The thai restaurant in Al Mirqab street is not bad. Prices is next to nothing. Here is the phone number : 4329704

Alternatively more decent restaurant in the same road, it is call Far East Restaurant. Own by my thai friend call Kao Lung. It is good but is not cheap.

Or you can go to chinese restaurant in The Centre... it is call Great Wall Chinese Restaurant.

IMHO ... chinese food is not the same without pork.

I miss Pig Organ Soup and Assam Fish Head now :-(

There is no a specific area for south asian to stay, but for restaurants there are few of them, I know one Thai and two Chinese restaurants.
