Am Too Sleepy

lovinni
By lovinni

I have been experiencing excessive "sleepiness" for 5 continuous days. Considering an average of 6 hrs sleep every night and about 75 mins nap in the afternoon, im sure this enough. At work im still sleepy, no matter how i listen to some upbeat music or even after a doze of laughter.

Is there something wrong? Are you as sleepy as I am?

arecel, it will be doughnut in the morning + coffee!

oh everymothers that's terrible! and you're used to it ever since?

and maybe this being sleepy despite the # of hrs of sleeping may be due to...less QUALITY of sleep. many times i dont feel having a deep sleep at all. esp when thinking so many things when im supposed to relax myself at night.

I used to suffer like this and adjusted my diet. I now take multi vitamins and Omega 3 capsules. I reduced my coffee to 2 cups per day and take in plenty of water. Seems to have done the trick, but I still need at least 9 hours sleep a night!

But if you are suffering any other symptons other than being drowsy you should go have a check up with your doctor. In fact if you are worried at all go for a check up.

lovi, try minimizing the caffeine intake, if you are a cofee person),since it may also make you sleepy in the long run:-) switched to tea drinking with honey. yum, yum. also, curb your carbo/protein intake esp in the morning. heavy breakfast is okay but too much is not good esp in the morning since it would make you feel lethargic. stay away from doughnuts, pastries and the likes. rice/oats/whole wheat bread is a-ok.. good for digestion too:-)

The amount of sleep varies from individual to individual. The 7-8 hour sleep is just a median number but in reality, it could vary from 3 hours to 14 hours for adults. If you read the biographies of Margaret Thatcher and the ex-chinese premier Deng Xiao Ping, you will be amazed on their sleep habits. I think you need more than 6 hour sleep. I myself need 9 hours.
