Al Emadi Hospital, worst general practicioners

I just want to vent out how unprofessional the generalist doctors are at Al Emadi hospital and no regard or respect for the patients health as well as their well being. I went to Al Emadi hospital for Flu, this lady doctor comes in and ask me straight "WHAT IS THE ISSUE"? well can't you ask politely and ask me where I am not feeling well? She only check my chest and mouth and informed me thats it, just pick up medicine. Thats it! less than 5 minutes. I asked her about the medical certificate and she firmly told me that they don't issue medical certificates...what a lie, she then said, she can only give me attendance letter, which clearly states no sick leave....I mean lady...I dragged myself into the hospital to see a doctor, we can help me...if I just needed medicine, I could have just gone to a pharmacy...Even my work place informed me to take a sick day...that was how sick I am...and she doesn't even have the decency to give their patient a sick leave certificate...even for 1 day. I am totally disappointed at the generalist doctors at AlEmadi...this is the third disappoint and thats it...I will never visit the hospital, who disregards the well being of their patient. All I wanted was a proper check by the doctor, medicine...recommendation of follow up if needed or persisting health issue....NOTHING...I was just thrown out with couple of antibiotics and cough syrup. Never again Al Emadi Hospital.

I just wanted to share my experience....if anyone has similar experience with the unprofessional generalist doctors there...please share.

Sapta, thank you for clarifying that, now I understand. But at least the doctor or the hospital nurses could have told me that and I could explain to my company when they ask for sick leave cert. But I was just given the cold shoulder by all of them, hence my experience was pretty bad. Please note, the service level that I am referring to is only the generalist doctors in Al Emadi hospital and not all of the specialist there.

Completely agree with Sapta. Emergency is not the place to treat cough. You should have gone to a Heath center

@ smartyshabs....even if your cough is very bad....99 percent of the time it is usually viral illness only. you are simply stupid to go to emergency department for such illness. Emergency is a place where accidents, heart attacks, bloody injuries etc are taken care of. whether it is a malabari or american doctor the approach to your case would be just the same..!! you were dying you said...well did you???

Dear zackm...feel sad for your suffering.. However please note that starting Dec 30 2014 the Ministry of Health of Qatar has issued notice to all private clinics and doctors not to issue sick leave certificates as in the past. Now the clinics have to apply for sick leaves online via "E-jaza" system only. Hence no doctors are actually writing sick leaves anymore in this new year, only attendance certificates are given.

I met with a same incident at Hamad Hospital emergency department as I had very bad cough ...the cough was that bad that when I visited they asked me to wear a mask . When my turn came to get myself register ... they just said we dont treat patient here with cough , " What the hack" i was shocked ... cough is the more contageous disease I said ... she replied we only save life .. tell me if u have heart problem or breathing problem. When I said i would like to talk to the doctor on duty ... One stupied Keralite ( malabari ) doctor came to SHAME the name of our country India . I told him about my issues ... and he bluntly said .. we cannot treat u in emergency .. wait till morning when the clinic opens .. I was dying ... I cursed that doctor and told him that YOu guys will go thru the same thing .. just because its government hospital and u guys have got the liberty to call the cops .. if patients argues with u... He simply said .. NOTHING GOING TO HAPPEN US ... but there is a personality sitting on top of all the creatures ... They will face it very soon .. Ameen.
