Future Football stars will keep marching on
Down in the heart of Qatar Foundation, a grand plan to bring competitive football to thousands of children across Qatar is coming together. The Qatar Foundation Junior Football league may be in its early years, but it is sweeping across the schools of Qatar and bringing fun competitive football action to all involved!
The Qatar Foundation League was up and running this week with hundreds of children got the chance to show off their skills, style and teamwork!
The Junior League includes over 30 teams across three age groups, and is one of the few places in Qatar to bring children from different nationalities, schools, cultures and football players together!
Future Football's very own Coach Josh gave his verdict:
Coach Josh: Future Football U9 team started their new season in the Qatar Foundation Junior League on Sunday which was taking place in the Aspire Zone dome.
The team were looking to improve on last season where they finished 5th, they started off well with 2 wins and a defeat in their 3 games.
The first game was a thrilling 3-2 win against a very good Sherborne team. The winning goal came from Josh Rezak with the last kick of the game. William Pillares and Todor Banjac with the other goals.
Game 2 was against the Aspire Academy, the effort in this game was brilliant but the score line of 5-1 to Aspire didn’t reflect the game, consolation goal from Nadhif Hayu.
The 3rd and final game was against Aspire Al Khor, the game was all one way from Future Football and goals from Todor and Josh sealed a 3-0 win.
Antoni Marczewski made some fantastic saves throughout the day and the efforts from Lucas Rodriguez and Bosco Gallego were very pleasing for Coach Josh.
How important is WINNING in competition?
Well that depends on your own views of child development. Here at Future Football, we believe the virtues of teamwork and a posititive attitude outweigh any winning result.
The QF junior league is the perfect enviroment for children to develop teamwork, unity and courage. Without the QF league hundreds of children would have nowhere to bring these KEY virtues together.
Future Football continues to develop at a rapid rate and it is exciting to think just how much progress can be by the club under the expert guidance of UEFA Pro Licensed football coach Simon Jennings and his comrades.
Qatar Living has been the main sponsor of Future Football for the past year and will carry on in 2017.
