Paying bank loan through salary transfer, mandatory? otherwise illegal?
Guys, need your help and comment.
My friend resigned from our company. When he resign, he still has car loan from hsbc bank. But he is paying it regularly for 3 months now after he resign, paying by means of cash or bank account balance.
But one day, a call center agent of the bank called him and ask about his loan/account. They've notice that, he indeed is paying the loan, but not anymore through salary transfer, or rather there has been no salary transfer. He said yes, bcoz he resigned. But then, he told them that he is somewhat doing freelance work. But already got job offer from a construction company he applied.
The call center agent told him, that the loan must be paid through salary transfer, or else he should pay the whole remaining amount, just bcoz he is now unemployed. But if he got a new job, he must present or give the bank a copy of job offer, within two weeks, or else they will be force to issue a legal action regarding the matter. But why??? He explained that he has been regularly paying the loan and not been delinquent. In two weeks time??? He cannot pressure the new company he will be working with to give him the offer, or else they might think he is already demanding even before he start with them.
Guys, we don’t know exactly what kind of LEGAL issue the call center agent is referring to when it comes to paying the bank loan through salary transfer which he is somewhat referring as legal or mandatory, otherwise it is illegal? The last consequence he has is that, if he got the company job offer letter later, but the bank already filed the “LEGAL case” something that they are telling, can he negotiate/bargain with the bank to draw back that “LEGAL case” against his status?
Please, thanks to give advice, suggestion s and comments.
Appreciate and thanks in advance.
